A simple season-by-season routine (sweeping, washing, re-sanding, and sealing) that keeps paver driveways and patios looking new.
Pavers are low maintenance, not no maintenance. A simple routine protects the color, keeps the joints locked, and pushes the first real repair years down the road.
The year-round routine
- Monthly: sweep or blow off leaves and debris so tannins do not stain the surface.
- After heavy storm seasons: check the joints; if sand has washed out, top up before weeds move in.
- Once or twice a year: wash the surface with a gentle cleaner; spot-treat oil and rust promptly.
- Every two to three years: deep clean, re-sand the joints with polymeric sand, and reseal.
What to avoid
Skip harsh acid washes, skip pressure-washing the joints at full blast, and never seal over a dirty surface. Each one does more harm than the problem it was meant to fix.
The bottom line
Fifteen minutes a month and a professional clean-and-seal every few years keeps a paver surface looking new for decades. Horizon handles cleaning, re-sanding, and sealing across Southeast Orlando. Call 321-946-4029.
